Short explanations introduce the method. Worked examples show what each move does—and why it works.
Use the maths board to enter your working. Keep equations balanced, one line at a time.
Check your steps, ask for a hint, or review an answer. Choose a practice level that fits where you are.
Not another set of obvious multiple-choice answers. Write the steps yourself, with feedback to help you move forward.
Hints when you need direction. Read-only answer reveals when you need an explanation. Undo when you want another try.
What you do to one side,
do to the other.
Pick up where you left off—even without Wi-Fi. Lesson progress and practice working stay separate, saved on your iPhone.
No. The optional Learn the basics path introduces operations, terms, signs, negative numbers and the order of operations. You can start there, or go straight to one of the three main topics.
Yes. Practice equations are available from the start in every topic. Choose Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced or Random, which mixes all levels. Your practice working is saved separately from your lesson progress.
Use a hint for a little guidance, or Reveal answer to see the current step and its explanation. Revealing an answer does not fill in your working or mark the exercise complete. You can also undo a step and try again.
Neither. Lessons, examples and practice work offline. You do not need an account, and your progress is stored locally on your iPhone, not synced between devices.
No. Solve for X is a guided learning and practice app with a curated set of equations. You write the next step yourself and the app checks it. It is not a general solver for arbitrary equations.
